This book rocks. I love alt history and "special" beings books. The author has captured a great cast of characters, notable historical events, and not mangled them beyond belief - a significant accomplishment in this genre.

I enjoyed every page, each event, and look forward to the next in the series. I strongly recommend this book. As an author, and a narrator of audio books, I have to give this one 5 stars. Excellent work.

The dual timelines running through this novel made it work very well; I'm not sure either one by itself would have held my interest as well as this did. It/they moved very quickly, a big plus for me. Alex Chandler is an excellent character; his personal development in his early years in the beginning of the book was different from that of most novel leads -- and certainly different from the incredibly successful warrior, lover, spy, and general problem-solver into which he quickly evolved.

The Flip of a Switch was a compelling mix of historical fiction and modern espionage with a touch of sci fi thrown in. All of the main characters had depth and personality and the author did a great job making them human and relatable. The modern and historical story arcs were nicely tied together to make the historical context relevant to the modern day intrigue. There were a few threads that were left unanswered that make the reader want to read the next installment. For a first-time author, P.R. DuRhett successfully piqued my interest and I look forward to many more books that follow the Notables Team.
